Wichtel 2019 (11 und Schluss): Es soll nicht langweilig werden!

(Published on 6. November 2020, 20:01 by wichtel)

To Christmas 2019 some eager puzzlefriends have again arranged a group in which everybody had to make anonymously a puzzle for someone else. These puzzles are now presented one after the other here in the portal.

It shall not get boring!

Eagerly the gnomes in charge for the next puzzle babbled in confusion:

The recipient likes Japanese sums, now that's great! – Yes, but a bit boring as well, and I'm really fed up with these rectangular grids. Look, I have a Christmas star grid left and this has to be used anyway or it becomes dusty. – Well, but then it needn't to be only sums. We could make as well product hints and skyscrapers. The meaning of the hints then simply depends on their direction. – Yes, but absolutely we take the 0, too. And of course ∞ as well, that's more funny. Well, but 0 · ∞ is a problem. – Sure, but that's clear for the recipient by himself! Simply 0 and ∞ may not appear in the same word. In order to make it not too confusing this is best valid for all directions. – Yes, and skyscrapers of height 0 are not visible, that's already familiar from Rätselhausen.

Hence the gnomes are agreed and get started. The result is the following puzzle:

Solution code: The two middle rows; U for infinite, S for black cell.

Something which is not clarified in the rules, but people should know about: The hexagon-shaped cells are not holes, but part of the grid, so they can include digits (or be blackened).
