Battlefield Sudoku
Inspiration for this variant comes from Christoph Seeliger, who was in turn inspired by the inventor of the type, Big Tiger.

Apply classic sudoku rules.
Consider groups of the first X cells and the last Y cells of a row or column where X is the digit in the first cell and Y is the digit in the last cell. A clue outside the grid indicates the sum of the digits where these groups overlap, or the sum of the digits in the gap between the groups if they don't overlap.
Solution code: Row 4, followed by column 6.

Beautiful puzzle, 3 stars are ok, I think. Battlefield is new for me, great idea.

I am surprised by the fact that this one is currently the hardest of the entire SVS. In my opinion this shouldn’t be very hard. In fact, my goal was to make a relative easy and accessible example of Battlefield since I think the others in the portal are on the hard side.
I agree fully with Christoph; experience pays off here!

I guess the first one of this type is never easy. Experience pays of a lot here.
