Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Thermometers strictly increase starting from the bulb
Grey cells only contain the digits 1-5, and every 5 in the grid must be in a grey cell.
Negative constraint applies: the digits 1234 cannot appear in white cells orthogonally connected to a grey region.
Example:f-puzzles link: High 5 Thermo
Solution code: Row 6 followed by Column 9

I really enjoyed this puzzle, fun not too hard and it's a nice flow through it :)

Mal einfach formuliert:
In jeder grauen Zelle ist entweder eine 5 oder eine Ziffer 1 bis 4, die othogonal über Ziffern 1 bis 4 mit einer 5 verbunden ist.
In every gray cell is either a 5 or a digit 1..4 that is orthogonally connected to a 5 over the digits 1..4.
Ist das richtig?
Nachtrag: ja, das ist es wohl. Die Formulierung mit Regionen fand ich verwirrend.

@Narayana thank you for the feedback. My previous puzzle came down as a 2 star, and I felt this one was more difficult when I was solving it. Perhaps that's just my skill level, or perhaps the 8 did more than I'd hoped (when I initially solved it, it didn't have the given 8, but I ended up with 2 possible solutions for the last 6 cells). I honestly thought the trick might be a little harder to catch since I think it's a little unorthodox. I've updated the difficulty to 2 stars, and I've also updated the f-puzzles link to be yours with the green highlights rather than grey.
I also only really had time to make puzzles because it was the weekend. You won't be seeing daily puzzles from me, but you might see 2 on a weekend.

@Marcos look at box 2 your solution violates one rule. Hope this helps.

link to solve in green color instead of gray to have more contrast with Thermo. https://f-puzzles.com/?id=yycb8d3o
