Lying Stars 2 (Liar Partial Killer)

(Published on 21. September 2020, 06:02 by Djmelee3000)

Here is the second version of my Lying Stars ruleset! If you'd like to try the first one, click here and here's the third one. This is similar to the first, but with better logic, a harder, narrower path, and a new twist! The extra rule is that one of the liars is actually telling the truth and you do not know which! Good luck and I hope you enjoy!

Rules:

•Normal sudoku rules apply.
•The yellow stars within or attached to killer cages indicate the amount the cage total is off by (if the total is 25 and the star is 5, then the real total is either 20 or 30). If they're attached to more than one cage, each cage must be lying and either can increase or decrease.
•Digits in a cage will then add up to the new total, without repeats.
•The stars form an extra region with the digits 1-9.
•Not so fast...One star is telling the truth and does not affect the cage total(s) it is either attached to or within and it must be found! (In box 2, both stars may or may not affect the cage, but two stars cannot affect the cage total in different directions, as in one increase and one decrease it).
•The black dots only help show which cages the stars are attached to. They are not ratios.

Excellent puzzle. A tight entry and solve path that's really enjoyable all the way through. The logic can be pretty tough at points, but it's always clean and to the point.
