Numbers along the top of the grid are sandwich clues. Sandwich clues indicate the sum of the digits placed between 1 and 9 in the row/column.
Numbers along the left side of the grid are battlefield clues. Consider the number x in the first cell and the number y in the last cell. Counting x cells from the x end, and y cells from the y end, will result in a gap or an overlap. The battlefield clue indicates the sum of digits in that gap or overlap.
Additionally any 0 on the left side is also a sandwich clue, where the sum is either 0, 10, 20, or 30, to be discovered for each row as you go.
Solution code: Row 1, Row 9

I have to disagree with "you either spot the logic immediately, or stare at it forever without finding the next step". Several times I felt stuck, and only found a way to proceed after trying other things that didn't work.
Anyway, good puzzle!

I would put this at 3 or 4 stars, perhaps. There's some pleasant logic in there, but nothing too difficult to spot
@DarkChord That's what I thought too, but the solver results suggest otherwise. This seems like one of those puzzles where you either spot the logic immediately, or stare at it forever without finding the next step.

Increased difficulty to Very Hard to reflect how few people have solved it compared to my other puzzles after this amount of time.
