Rule 2 was a bit confusing to me, took me a while to figure out what 'corner' meant in this context. So if it helps here's an attempt at phrasing it differently: cells that are adjacent to each other, orthogonally as well as diagonally, never contain letters that are consecutive in the alphabet. (e.g. D+E cannot occur but F+H can.)
