This puzzle is a follow up of my pyramid-shaped killer sudoku.
The pyramid's cousin is in town - the staircase! A similar empty-looking grid accompanies this construction, however there is no anti-knight move restriction to help you along this time!
Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply. Every row, column and box must contain the digits from 1-9.
Normal killer sudoku rules apply. Within each cage, digits cannot repeat and must sum to the given total in the top-left corner.
Normal little killer sudoku rules apply. Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of the digits on the indicated diagonal.
Yet again, your comments and ratings are very much appreciated! Happy solving :)
Solution code: Columns 6 and 8

Very nice puzzle, Willy!
For me, it was never too hard but remained challenging throughout the entire solve.
Very enjoyable solve as well!
@Philipp Huber - That’s perfect! Exactly what I was hoping for with this construction! I’m very pleased to hear you enjoyed it :)

Puzzles like this one rather remind me of Conway's game of life, you start with a compact seed, then turn on the simulation, and then wait until the pattern unfolds itself. Very nicely done.
@Qodec - Thank youu!
