Mystery Killer Twins (6x6 Sudoku)
(Published on 4. August 2020, 06:00 by SudokuExplorer)
This puzzle is a similar construction to the
Mini Killer Twins sudoku, but is filled with more logic than last time. If you get stuck, there are two (vague) hints below the sudoku. Only use them when you really need to.
Normal sudoku rules apply (Each row, column and region contains each of the numbers from 1 to 6).
Rules about Killer Twin Cages:
In a killer twin cage, each digit appears exactly twice within the cage.
Its cage sum is the total of all the digits in the cage.
In this sudoku, the two large cages at the centre are killer twin cages with the
same cage sums (denoted by x).
For example, if a killer twin cage has two 1s, two 2s and two 3s then its cage sum is x=1+1+2+2+3+3=12
Rules about Normal Killer Cages:
In a normal killer cage, no digit repeats within the cage.
Its cage sum is the total of all the digits in the cage (written at the top of the cage).
In this sudoku, the two small cages with cage sums 8 and 15 are normal killer cages.
Rule about Little Killer Clue:
The four digits (not necessarily distinct) on the diagonal, in the direction of the little arrow, sum to 10.
You can try this on
Penpa-Edit. Have fun solving!
Hint 1:
What is the parity of 1+2+3+4+5+6?
Hint 2:
Have fun colouring!
Solution code: Enter the 2nd and 4th rows (left to right), followed by the common cage sum x (14 digits in total). Remember to enter the correct cage sum (not half the sum).

I'll post that new 6x6 puzzle next week (since there have been quite a few little killers recently, including my own 9x9 one). I'll post a different
easy variant on Thursday. It will contain a bonus puzzle to think about that construction.

Clarified the cage sum again (in the solution code this time)

Jetzt hatte ich das Rätsel gelöst und die Lösung wurde nicht akzeptiert. Warum nicht? Man sollte für X schon die korrekte Summe (und nicht die halbe) eingeben.

I know this puzzle is on the harder side of the spectrum (which is why I had added two hints), so later this week (maybe Thursday) I will post one with an easier starting logic but with a similar central logic.

@aneoid I'm pleased you enjoyed the logic and had fun :-)
@Luigi Thanks for clearing the misunderstanding.

@marcmees: I did exactly the same mistake.
Your solution is correct. But look at the value of x! (I took initially x/2)

Fun puzzle; thanks, SE.

I accidentally asked for the 1st row instead of the 2nd row. I'm really sorry to anyone who solved it but entered the 1st row.
