Parity Sections Sudoku
Apply classic sudoku rules.
A number in the lower right corner of a cell is the sum of the digits in the cells in the section that cell is part of. A section consists of a group of all orthogonally connected cells with digits of the same parity (even or odd).
Inspiration for this type comes from stephane.bura.

This one broke my brain for a while, but I finally cracked it!

Lovely! It took me too long to prove that something that looked impossible really was impossible; after that the puzzle got much easier.

I didn't think I would like this--it looked very arithmetic-heavy and I have a huge number of hard/very hard puzzles to work on. I'm glad I gave it a try. It's almost more of a path-forming sudoku. I'll admit I never tried the original because I didn't fully understand the rules and it was rated very hard...maybe I'll take another look.

Thanks Stephane! Always nice to read such a comment from the brain behind the idea! :-)

Your puzzle brought me such pleasure. Being able to go through this thought process as a solver is a gift I truly appreciate. Thanks Richard.

I did some time ago, but my trying was not good enough :-)

Did anyone try Stephane’s puzzle that inspired me? I still think that one deserves more solves! Go give it a try!

thanks for this nice puzzle. btw. I start making my notes on the bottom half, gradually working my way up when more notes are needed.

@Henry: Good question! Tbh I did just the same as Stephane. But now that I think of it: the sum is sometimes a three digit number that takes more space than a conventional killer sum and most people make their notes in the upper half of the cells... For what it is worth. :-)

Q for both authors: What's the reason for writing the sum in the lower right corner instead of the conventional upper left?

@Stephane: I am honoured by the comparison! :-)
I like most of your innovative creations, and that is one of the criteria to be included in SVS. So be prepared that more of those will be covered in the future. ;-)

I feel like if The Beatles covered one of my songs. Looking forward to trying it :)
