Challenging Classic with 33 givens

(Published on 27. July 2020, 23:34 by swaroop2012)

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Took a lot of effort to create this one. But if you believe that having more givens makes a classic sudoku easier. Here is a challenging one with 33 givens, that will keep your mind occupied for a while.

This is my first puzzle on LMD, so apologies if I did any mistake. Any feedback is welcome. Thank you. Have Fun.

After finding some swordfishes I could not progress anymore. Maybe I missed something. Trial and error did the trick. After checking with the solver it couldn't find any logical stps after a point. Not what I was looking for in a puzzle.

Very nice puzzle with swordfish and XY chains

Thanks everyone so far for the feedback. @Bismuth - Yes I wanted to create a classic sudoku that uses couple of high end techniques. To be specific swordfish and XY chains. At the same time have a nice themed layout and many givens. So it was quite a struggle to achieve this but I am happy at the end. I also understand that for the competition I would never have such difficult techniques (as people would just guess during competitive mode and the construction would lose its touch), but since its online, I thought it will be good practice of those tricks. I will be posting another puzzle soon, but this time an easy one :)

I have no idea what the logical path was supposed to be - still a novice compared to so many on this site - but a little bifurcation went a long way, lol.
