Whispering Knights

My first attempt at a puzzle, so all feedback is welcome! Along the grey lines adjacent digits are knights moves away from each other in the central 3 x 3 region, which forms a magic square. If two adjacent cells do not have a grey line joining them their values cannot be knights’ moves away in the central region.

I spent several minutes scratching my head, but once a few cells are unlocked it opens up nicely.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m sure this idea’s got legs, so I’m going to try one without the negative constraint and with fewer lines.

Great puzzle! As everyone has already said, it could be solved without the negative constraint, so maybe not all lines are necessary

I can confirm that the negative constraint is not needed. Instead of keeping it, maybe drop it and remove some lines to raise the difficulty?

The negative constraint does apply to diagonally adjacent cells (unless I’ve missed one!)
