Sudoku Variants Series (273) - Thermal Killer Sudoku

(Published on 17. June 2020, 00:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a different Sudoku variant every week. I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

Thermal Killer Sudoku
Apply classic sudoku rules.
The small numbers in the upper left corner of the cages indicate the sum of the digits in that area. Within each cage all digits must be different and they must be placed in a way that they are all horizontally or vertically connected in an increasing order, such that they form a snake-like pattern of one cell wide.

Inspiration for this type comes from Madmahogany.

Solve online in F-Puzzles (thanks Krokant!)

Solution code: Row 5, followed by column 5.

Thanks to CtC for reminding me that I didn't enter my solution for this one. It's very nice and a smooth solving experience!

I'm no big fan of killer-like puzzles, but this was interesting. Found it a bit hard though… four stars for me :-)
