Hochhaussummen-Sudoku [6] Mauern

(Published on 8. May 2020, 18:45 by Errorandy)

Place the numbers 1 to 9 in the empty squares so that each row, each column and each 3x3 box contains the same number only once. The numbers outside the grid indicates the sum of heights of buildings visible from that direction. Higher skyscrapers hide lower skyscrapers.

In this puzzle there are 4 different walls in the colors red, blue, green and yellow. The walls have 4 different heights from 1-9. Skyscrapers that have the same height as the wall or smaller and are behind the wall cannot be seen. The colored squares are as high as the associated wall.

Just so I've understood the rules for when I decide to try this puzzle. Say that R6C5 is a 9, i.e. the green wall is of height 9. Then reading the column 4, 5, and 6 clues upwards, only the first three digits are considered in the skyscraper sum, since any digit beyond the wall is unseen? If the same cell was a 7, say, then the only two other digits beyond the green wall that can be considered are the 8 and the 9?
