Entwined Sandwiches Sudoku

(Published on 7. April 2020, 17:25 by matt383)

Normal sudoku rules apply.

This puzzle combines two Sandwich Sudoku puzzles:
- Some of the clues outside the grid are part of a standard 1-9 Sandwich Sudoku puzzle: these clues indicate the sum of the numbers 'sandwiched' between the numbers 1 and 9 in the given row or column.
- The rest of the clues are part of a 5-7 Sandwich Sudoku: the clues indicate the sum of the numbers sandwiched between the numbers 5 and 7 in the given row or column.

(Every clue refers to the sum of a different set of numbers in the grid, but the clues are in no particular order considering the given row or column.)

For example this would be a valid solution for a row where 11 is the clue for the 1-9, 6 is the clue for the 5-7 puzzle:
11 | 6 7 2 | 4 5 1 | 8 3 9 | 6

The puzzle has a logical solution path, you don't need to brute-force through long chains of possibilities during the solve.

Have fun!

Matyas

Hi Matyas. Just to be sure, should we understand that if the same clue number is at each side of a row or column, that particular number refers once for 1-9 and another time for 5-7 ?
