Wichtel 2017 (8): Ein rätselhaftes Experiment

(Published on 17. August 2018, 03:05 by wichtel)

To Christmas 2017 some eager puzzlefriends have again arranged a group in which everybody had to make anonymously a puzzle for someone else. These puzzles now have been presented one after the other here in the portal.

A puzzling experiment

Gnome Gearloose experimented as usual. He has just put an A 38 together with a Japanese Sum into a puzzle test tube and is a bit shocked because of the heavy reaction. He cleans his work coat from smut and dust, takes of his protective glasses and thoroughly examines the result of the experiment:

"Ah, well, supremely interesting!" he states. "The A 38 has left marks on the Japanese Sum. All the important cells of it - the hint cells and the black cells through which the loop goes - are marked with snow flakes. The other black cells the loop simply omits. The start cell is not marked, but that's no problem, just be careful. The Japanese Sum is totally normal, yet on the hint cells of the A 38 more than one digit may be placed. - An explosive mixture, absolutely clear, to whom I shall present it!"

Solution code: The digits on the pass cells in the order on the loop.

Very nice puzzle with beautiful interactions! A fitting challenge for my 1000th solve on the portal :D

Definitely one of my new favorite puzzles :)

Thank you so much to the creator!

@MazzleFlush: I have two numbers in that field and can't see what else there could be.

on 9. September 2022, 10:27 by ibag
@MazzleFlush: As far as I can see there's no damage yet.

A rare treat where 5* for beauty doesn't feel sufficient :) One of the most magnificent puzzles I have solved; the solving path was just sublime as it unfolded. Thank you very much to its creator!

@ibag @tuace Thank you. Another important rule is that the A38 loop must pass through all digit grid(except the A38 hint digit grid)

@xiao01wei: An English translation of the rules for A 38 can be found here: https://wspc2019.de/downloads/wpc_2019_instructionbooklet_v2.pdf
(Puzzle 2.8)

@xiao01wei: That's exactly why I posted the link, so you can familiarize yourself with A 38 ;-)

on 8. May 2021, 11:53 by xiao01wei
@ibag thank you. it is difficult for me, because of i am not familiar to A38

@xiao01wei: I think for solving the puzzle, it is necessary to be familiar not only with Japanese Sums but with the puzzle type A 38, too, which is an invention of tuace. The first puzzle of this type can be found here: https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=0002GK

Then for both puzzle types standard rules apply, with two exceptions: 1. In number fields of the Japanese Sums which are marked by a snow flake, more than one digit can be written. These fields contain the hints for the A 38 puzzle. 2. The A 38 path does not pass through normal black fields of the Japanese Sums which are not marked by a snow flake.

Anyone can explain the full rules?

Mein 2000. gelöstes Portalrätsel (jedenfalls nach meiner Benutzerseite) und absolut würdig für diesen Anlass.

Der Rundweg geht durch alle Zahlenfelder ohne und alle Schwarzfelder mit Stern.

on 18. March 2019, 21:11 by Semax
Müssen beim A38 alle Leerfelder benutzt werden?

@Joe Average
Es gibt nur wenige, die so ein tolles Rätsel machen können ;)

@AnnaTh: Nein.

Wenn sich zwei oder mehr Zahlen auf einem Vorgabefeld befinden, darf sich da eine in derselben Reihe oder Spalte befindliche Zahl wiederholen?

on 20. August 2018, 08:33 by Statistica
GROSSartig. Mal wieder eine kühne und geniale Kombination.

on 17. August 2018, 14:48 by tuace
@Statistica: Genau.

on 17. August 2018, 14:35 by Statistica

on 17. August 2018, 11:41 by tuace
@Luigi: 1.ja, 2.die Ziffern zählen einzeln, 3.ja;
@zorant: see wichtels comment, and all these digits count individually and must not be repeated in the row/column

on 17. August 2018, 10:46 by wichtel
zorant, I think the answer to your question lies here: "yet on the hint cells of the A 38 more than one digit may be placed"

on 17. August 2018, 09:27 by tuace
Einfach nochmal Danke für dieses Wahnsinnsgeschenk!!

on 17. August 2018, 09:04 by zorant
I don't understand rules. The grid is 11 x 11 fields. The 7 row for standard rules of japanese sums must have min. 13 fields?
