Wichtel 2017 (2): Lost Cookies

(Published on 23. April 2018, 03:05 by wichtel)

To Christmas 2017 some eager puzzlefriends have again arranged a group in which everybody had to make anonymously a puzzle for someone else. These puzzles now have been presented one after the other here in the portal.

Good gracious, Christmas time is running and the chief gnome has so much to do in order to prepare nice surprises to his puzzle friends in the gnome group.

His gnome troop helps him a lot. One gnome had a special idea. He made a whole baking tray of Christmas cookies and put them with a greeting on the chief gnome's desk. It must not always be puzzles, he thought, and went happily about his creation out of chief gnome's office. Unfortunately he forgot to close the door behind him.

Reindeer Rudolf smelled the delicious scent and sneaked curiously into the office….

Not long after that chief gnome entered his office, was surprised because of the empty tray, read the gnome's greeting and called for him straightaway.

"Oh, what a pity! The cookies are lost!" the gnome exclaimed and moaned loudly. Luckily he had made himself a plan, how he wanted to place the cookies on the tray. He gave it to the chief gnome and described his lost baking achievement. Chief gnome looked pondering at the plan. "Yes, I can imagine very well now, what you have created there", he said at packed the plan instead of the cookies into a gnome parcel.

Now find out yourself where the cookies had been placed by using the standard japanese sums hints. Use the numbers from 1 to 6. In each row and column they may appear twice at maximum. A number may only appear twice, if each number from 1 to 6 has already appeared once in the corresponding row or column. The same is valid for a block of numbers: A number may appear twice in a block of numbers only, if each number from 1 to 6 does already appear in this block.

Solution code: 2. column from top to bottom and 11. row from left to right, S for black cells
