Wichtel 2016 (5): Stallungen am Nordpol

(Published on 12. June 2017, 22:00 by wichtel)

To Christmas 2016 some eager puzzlefriends have again arranged a group in which everybody had to make anonymously a puzzle for someone else. These puzzles are now presented one after the other here in the portal.

Stablings at the North Pole

Dear HuDu,

Santa Claus is very busy and the distribution of the presents all over the world should be well organized. So he delegates a lot of important tasks to his helpful gnomes.

One of the most important tasks should be fulfilled by his chief gnome. Beside the care and feed of Santa Claus' 72 reindeers they shall be divided according to the 7 continents into 7 different stablings. Each stabling consists of up to 11 heavenly units and they all are placed on an area of totally 11x11 units.

As a tribute to the also at the North Pole well known puzzle friend HuDu alias r45 the chief gnome made 7 differently coloured stablings and he placed them onto the area assigned by St Nicholas.

Then he made a quite sophisticated plan, how the stablings (including rotations) are positioned. Each unit of a stabling got a digit from 1 to 9. No digit appears more than once in any row or column. Digits may repeat within a stabling.

Then he wrote at the margins in what order from left to right digits appear seen from the margin (to make it clear look at the sums left and right of the last row). Directly following cells of a stabling are added. (In a standing U the two top digits would be given seperately and not be added.) In the end he coded these numbers by replacing each digit by a different letter.

Dear HuDu, now figure out, how the chief gnome positioned the stablings!

Solution code: The two main diagonals starting top left and top right, S for black cells

Also stünde in der 6. Zeile auf der linken Seite als Summen: O T S E F FF H?
