Wichtel 2016 (1): Neue Regeln in der Wichtelwerkstatt

(Published on 23. March 2017, 13:00 by wichtel)

To Christmas 2016 some eager puzzlefriends have again arranged a group in which everybody had to make anonymously a puzzle for someone else. These puzzles are now presented one after the other here in the portal.

New rules in the gnomes' factory

Strong rules dominate in the gnomes' factory since it has been examined by a business consultancy. For saving reasons diagrams mustn't be larger than 8x8 and in each diagram two puzzles have to be placed. It is desirable to use tight-fit cells and SCAs (gnome slang for "Silly Christmas Applications") like straw stars and snowflakes have to be put inside the puzzle itself. Stickers with Christmas motives may only be used, if they need no additional space. In case of need futile hints have to be covered by them. Our gnome is glad, that he has managed to meet all this restrictions in the following puzzle.

Japanese sums with digits 0-9: Black cells may not touch orthogonally. If both halves of a tight fit cell contain digits, the cell is taken as a two digit number (in reading direction form left to right or top down). A two digit number may not start with a 0. Some hint digits are replaced by straw stars. In some rows and columns the hints are completely missing. In all other rows and columns they are completely given and in the right order, but the stickers cover some of them.

Fences: The loop uses horizontal, vertical or diagonal edges of black cells. Vice versa of each black cell at least one edge is part of the loop. If a cell contains a snowflake, the digit in this cell is a correct hint for the loop. All possible snowflakes are given.

Solution code: Die 1.
