@Richard: Yes that's true. When giving preferences to hidden pairs/triples and line-block eliminations before giving the knight rule a chance, I count 17 applications of the knight rules with in total 28 eliminations for this puzzle. (BTWF, your anti-knight from 2014 has about twice as much knight eliminations.) Thanks for your frank and constructive comments.
