Wichtel 2014 (6): Weihnachtsalarm für Lethciw
(Published on 1. March 2015, 20:41 by wichtel)
To Christmas 2014 some eager puzzlefriends have again arranged a group in which everybody had to make anonymously a puzzle for someone else. These puzzles are now presented one after the other here in the portal.
Christmas alert for Lethciw
Christmas is near. Peace came upon the whole galaxy. The whole galaxy? No! Just before the holy feast the Sith Lord Darth Maul had plotted a conspiracy together with the Neimoidian Viceroy Nute Gunray: He kidnapped princess Leia and imprisoned her. Against a princely ransom the villains turned her over to the evil Jabba the Hutt as a Christmas present. So now princess Leia is locked into a dreary prison on the desert planet Tatooine and shall be sacrificed ceremoniously on Christmas eve.
Young Space Cadet Lethciw who is in his education to become a Jedi Knight of course immediately set off in order to prevent princess Leia from this cruel fate. After he arrived on Tatooine he quickly finds the prison where the princess is locked-in.
The prison has four entrances. It consists of several rooms and a central cell with four doors holding the princess. In each room there is either exactly one explosive charge or a way leading inside the room, passing it completely and leaving it again.
Find the positions of the explosive charges and the way to free princess Leia. In each row and each column of the diagram there are exactly two explosive charges. They may not touch each other, not even diagonally. One of them is already positioned. The way starts in one of the four entrances on the bottom side of the diagram and ends in one of the four doors into the central cell. There are no explosive charges in the entrances.
In the original version this puzzle is decorated with some pictures of STAR WARS characters. In order to avoid copyright problems they are left out here. And the true name of the Space Cadet has been replaced by a nearly as glorious pseudonym.
Solution code: For each row (top to bottom except the entrances) the number of cells belonging to the way and for each column (left to right) the number of cells between the two explosive charges ingnoring the central cell
