Ali Baba and Sindbad the Sailor are creating a slither link puzzle for Alex's birthday. And they agree that some of the hints should be "knapp daneben", so that even Alex should not solve it in 5 minutes.
They sit down and fill the grid with hints. But after a while they notice that they have no agreement about the puzzle:
- One of them makes a crypto-puzzle, the other uses number hints.
- One of them makes an ordinary slither link puzzle, the other gives hints which refer to the used vertices instead of the edges.
- One of them uses hints, which are correct inside and "knapp daneben" outside the loop, the hints from the other one are just vice versa.
Because they come to no compromise they continue each of them with his own rules. Here comes the result:
Solution code: The sizes of the areas outside the loop clockwise, beginning in the upper left corner.

Obwohl sich die beiden so schlecht abgesprochen haben ist ein spannendes, kniffliges und wunderschönes Rätsel dabei herum gekommen.

Es hat ein bisschen gedauert, bis ich mich wieder erinnert habe, dass ein Eckenrundweg ja gar nicht unbedingt an den Ecken abbiegen muss. Ab da ging es dann. Sehr schönes Rätsel!
