Classic City Construction (III)

(Published on 12. July 2013, 12:00 by Richard)

Place all given buildings in the grid. Buildings may be rotated. They may not touch each other, not even diagonally. Digits outside the grid are the number of cells used by buildings in the row or column. All unused cells form a single, closed loop.

This puzzle has a different start than normal for this type. So here is a starting hint in a tiny font. Copy this hint, paste it in a text editor and enlarge the font size if you want to read it:

Consider columns 3,4,5.
There have to be placed a lot of building segments in these columns.
Column 4 is almost full with 8 segments, leaving only two cells empty.
Try to fit two buildings with a 'length' of 4 in this column, and you will see that you don't get enough cells covered in columns 3 and 5.
So there are three buildings in this column, covering 1,3 and 4 cell, 2,2 and 4 cells s or covering 3,3 and 2 cells. Now it needs only limited eliminations to get started....

Puh, dieses Rätsel hat sich lange gewehrt.
Erst als ich beim Rätselwochenende Christian erklärt habe, warum es nicht geht, konnte ich es lösen... ;-)
