Knight Non-Consecutive Sudoku III
Put in each row, in each column and in each 3x3 block the number from
1 to 9. In addition the eight close knight move cells must not contain
consecutive numbers.
In case you prefer to solve the puzzle with more logical methods than
by trial and error etc, you have to apply three advanced methods one
after the other to solve the bottleneck of the puzzle. The first two
steps are special cases of forcing chain:
- x-cycle with groups in 2
r2c1-r2c7=r9c7-r9c3=(r3c3|r2c3)-r2c1: r2c1 != 2
- empty rectangle in 6
r9c3-r5c3=r5c9-(r9c9|r7c9|r8c9)=(r9c9|r9c7|r9c8)-r9c3: r9c3 != 6
- almost locked set XZ rule
ALS:(129)[r2c3|r2c4], ALS: (289)[r3c3|r3c7],
restricted common: X=2, Z=9: r3c4 != 9
After having eliminated the three candidates, the rest of the puzzle can be solved
with simple steps.
Solution code: The first and the ninth row.
