Die Glasscheibe IV - Luigi´s Nightmare

(Published on 10. January 2012, 23:15 by Dandelo)

The last and (imho hardest) puzzle of the series. The original puzzle is still:

Given a square glass pane, all edges 1m long. Cut it into 8 pieces. All edges of these pieces should be 0.5m long and straight-lined.

Attention: The solution is not unique (see comment to the previous puzzle)! But there are some special solutions.

Two of them were subject of the previous puzzles.

Here a solution is required with the property, that any straight line segment between two vertices of the same piece can't be completely outside the piece. In other words, any such line segment should at least partly lie on the border of the piece or inside the piece. This solution is also not unique.

Solution code: The numbers of edges of all pieces in ascending order, followed by the numbers of neighbours (pieces sharing at least one edge with it) of all pieces in ascending order and the first 7 decimals of the areas of the smallest and the largest piece.

1 star for the difficulty if you do not solve the previous problems of this series.
Otherwise - 4 stars.

@pokerke:

That's really funny: it is the first solution I found. Later I saw the easy ones and we found many more.

No trick, no cheating, no meta, no mystery. But you have to read carefully the text.

Soll ich den Titel ändern? Gefällt dir "Luigi's Nightmare" besser?
