• Normal 6-sudoku rules apply: place the digits 1 to 6 once each in every row, column and box.
• (castello maniace only) The grid is partially covered with fog. Correctly placed digits will clear the fog around that cell.
• Each digit corresponds to a chess piece (a space is provided below the grid to mark the digits corresponding to each piece: queen♕, king♔, rook♖, bishop♗, knight♘, and pawn♙).
• For each digit, cells containing the same digit may not be one chess move apart, where the type of move is the one corresponding to the digit.
• Clues outside the grid are skyscraper clues: Each cell represents a ‘skyscraper' whose height is the digit in that cell. Taller skyscrapers obscure the view of smaller ones. Digits corresponding to the clues outside the grid tell how many skyscrapers are visible looking across the row or column from the direction of the clue.
