Cave Escape

(Eingestellt am 15. September 2024, 11:01 Uhr von Krusti Clawn)

After falling through a hole in the ground, you find yourself in a pitch-black cave with nothing but a torch and your wits to help you navigate back to the surface ...

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 once in each row, column and box.
  • Cave Escape: The grid is a cave shrouded in darkness. Starting in R7C1, move through the cave from cell to cell until you find an exit. Thick brown cave walls block movement. To move to a cell, enter a correct digit into it, which will light it up and possibly reveal more clues. Once you have moved to a cell, you are free to revisit it at any point and continue your search from there, as you might well run into dead ends elsewhere. You may only move to cells orthogonally adjacent to at least one previously visited cell.
(For clarity: Even if you know what digit must go into a cell, you are not allowed to enter it until you can reach that cell by orthogonal movement through your expanding walkable area.)
  • XV: Digits separated by an X sum to 10. Digits separated by a V sum to 5. Not all Xs and Vs are given.
  • Arrows: Digits along a red arrow sum to the digit in the attached circle. Digits may repeat along arrows if allowed by other rules. Arrows may not branch, cross or overlap.
  • German Whispers: Adjacent digits on a green line must have a minimum difference of 5.
  • Killer Cages: Digits within a dashed cage cannot repeat and must sum to the small number written somewhere on the border of the cage, if given. Colours are purely for aesthetics / visual disambiguation.

For me, it was hard to tell where the brown walls were when they were partially covered with fog. This was especially true at the beginning when little of the grid is visible. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.

Very interesting puzzle, I enjoyed it but felt a little bit clunky at times when I couldn't put digits in but had to use the knowledge of where they should be to solve the next step

What an amazing puzzle! It was a little difficult to see the Xs and Vs, but I managed. Really beautiful and a precise logic to every move, which you are forced to do in order.
