This is my response to
Scojo's setting prompt a couple of weeks ago, where we were asked to make a puzzle recognisably in our own style so that Scojo could play "guess the setter". I figured I'd make it easy for him.
Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
Anti-Knight: Cells separated by a knight's move (in Chess) may not contain the same digit.
Octopus: Draw 8 tentacles, all of the same length (in no. of cells) that emanate from the centre (r5c5) and reach the edge of the grid, where they stop immediately. Tentacles do not cross or overlap, except at the head. Opposite tentacles are considered as single lines, which have 180 degree rotational symmetry.
Renban: The Octopus' four lines are Renban lines, i.e. they contain a non-repeating set of consecutive digits.
Kropki Rings: Digits separated by a ring are consecutive. All rings must be worn by the Octopus, i.e. a tentacle must pass through it.
Kropki Bubbles: Digits separated by a black bubble are in a 1:2 ratio. They need not necessarily lie on a tentacle.
Lösungscode: The digits on the end of all 8 tentacles and in the middle of the octopus, in numerical order from smallest to largest (e.g. "122457778")

Terrific puzzle! That was fun to unwind. A couple key insights make it not as difficult as it first appears

Beautiful and quite hard (for me). I give 4 stars. But I enjoyed all of the long time I needed to solve this lovely puzzle. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this masterpiece.

Those "bubbles" are eyes and you'll never convince me otherwise.
Also, nice puzzle.
