Sandwiches in the Fog

Normal Sudoku rules apply; place the digits 1-9 so that they appear in every row/column/box exactly once. The gray cells on the outside of the puzzle contain sandwich clues and do not require any input. These sandwich clues give the sum of the cells "sandwiched" between the 1 and 9 in their row/column.
Additionally, the sandwich clues are covered in fog. Placing Sudoku digits in the white cells will clear the fog from surrounding gray cells, possibly revealing more sandwich clues. No guessing is required!
After finishing the Sudoku, select the outside gray cells and input "3" into all of them to check your solution.

It's a little confusing
The check says it's wrong
I added 3 in all outer ring cells, still wrong
I added 3 in all empty outer ring cells, still wrong
I checked all sandwiches the sums were correct
I submitted the code (row 3) in the input box and it was accepted
