The rules for all 3 puzzles are the same:

  • Schroedinger Sudoku rules: Place the digits 0-6 once in every row, column and box. To achieve that every row, column and box contains a "Schroedinger Cell", which simultaneously contains 2 digits. Every Schroedinger Cell contains a unique pair of digits. For the purposes of Killer cages the value of a Schroedinger Cell is the sum of the two digits it contains.
  • Killer Cages: Digits in cages don't repeat, this applies to individual digits in normal cells as well as both digits of a Schroedinger cell. The values in a cage sum to the given total.

I had always been intimidated and overwhelmed at Schroedinger puzzles and tended to avoid them. This was an excellent introduction to some of the thought patterns, and strategies. It was just hard enough to wrap your head around, without being so hard as to be unenjoyable. Very cool.

I'm quite convinced that even the solution code is also a mini-puzzle by itself, still it was fun and nice all the way through! :)
