PUZZLE:
RULES:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
• Odd/Even: Digits within Circle cells are Odd.
• Sandwich: Clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits between 1 and 9 in the indicated row or column.
INTRODUCTION:
Back to basics (been setting a lot of special cell puzzles, lately).
My only regret is that the world has decided square cells are for even digits, thus we weren't able to have my initial dream of a checkerboard sudoku grid.

Good coffee break puzzle. I dont think I needed all the sandwich clues - however, having fewer would make the solve path too obvious

I don't even understand how to use the 8 sandwich clue given where the even digits need to go
EDIT: I'd hate to give the game away; it should become a bit clearer when you start filling in the possibilities for some cells. - VKP

I don't know how others might have solved it without all the sandwich clues, but they all played a part when I was solving it. Very fun. Thanks for the puzzle!
