Hybrid Star Battle Series (016) - Slitherlink

Intro
For this Hybrid Star Battle Series I will be sharing a new puzzle each week combining Star Battle with another puzzle genre. This week's genre is Slitherlink. The inspiration for this combination came from an all-slitherlink series led by TwoHoleStraw at the CTC Community, called "Snakes on a Plane". I made a 1-star puzzle for that series, and highly recommend checking out that series puzzles if you're interested in Slitherlink, or fun variant puzzles in general.
Rules
Standard Slitherlink and Star Battle rules apply.
- Slitherlink: Connect some pairs of orthogonally adjacent dots to form a single non-intersecting loop. Clues represent the number of edges drawn surrounding the clue (up to four).
- Star Battle: Place stars into some cells such that each row, column, and region contains exactly 2 stars. Stars may not touch one another, not even diagonally.

8x8 2-star Example (Penpa+ link):
Lösungscode: Along row 8, then column 8: if the cell has a star, give *. Otherwise, give O if the cell is outside the loop and I if the cell is inside. In the above example, the solution code is O*I*IOOO IIOI*I*O.

The point where I needed to start considering restrictions from both rule sets completely blew me away, and everything that follows was just beautiful. Great puzzle!
