Bloodcursed Arrows
(Eingestellt am 18. Februar 2023, 23:00 Uhr von ViKingPrime)
PUZZLE:
RULES:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
•
Arrow: Digits along an arrow must sum to the
value in its originating circle.
MODIFIER:
•
Nosferatu: There are 9
Nosferatu cells contained within the grid comprised of a set of the digits from 1-to-9. Each row, column and box contains exactly one Nosferatu cell. There are nine 9
Prey cells contained within the grid following the same rules as the Nosferatu cells. A cell may have only one of these roles.
for Arrow values
Prey cells contribute
no value (0).
Nosferatu cells contribute the
sum of the digits in the Nosferatu cell and Prey cell within the same box.
Note: the arrow along Row 3 extends in a straight-line from R3C8 to R3C3.
INTRODUCTION:
This puzzle was inspired by Mad-Tyas' take on donor cells, which he dubbed "Vampires" and later on "Nosferatu" (and is the kind of visceral, evocative name you just know is going to make for some fun logic).
If you're interested in their previous masterclass in this kind of logic,
you will find "Vampires" here. Their puzzle was the one that inspired me to begin setting in the first place; I hope I have done it justice.
An example puzzle will follow to better illustrate the rules.
Have fun!

I'm happy I finally gave this puzzle a second try after breaking it on my first attempt when it was published. Very nice logic with this fun constraint! Thank you for setting puzzles with it!

Wonderful use of the Vampire constraint. I don't know why I think these are so fun, I think it is because the hidden 9th and 10th regions with the special cells let you have some very abstract logic going.

I love how each new vampire puzzle feels different from the other ones. This one was a little more intimidating with all its arrows so I kept it for the last, but it wasn't as complicated as it seemed. Another big thank you for these puzzles! They're all very fun!
EDIT: Well you're in luck, just posted another one today. I'm glad you're enjoying them! - VKP

Very confusing but very nice reimagining of the vampire ruleset. It definitely feels like a worthy vampire sequel. Nice setting! Vampire rules allow for some crazy nonsensical arrows!
EDIT: Thank you for saying so! I really enjoy the logic, keep your eyes out for more to follow, if you do as well - VKP
