Rules:
Contained within the grid are nine non-overlapping 3x3 square regions, which must be located. Each region contains the digits 1 to 9 once each, such that no digit repeats in any row or column. Cells outside regions do not contain digits.
Numbered Rooms: Clues outside the grid indicate the digit which has to be placed in the Nth cell from the corresponding direction, where N is the first digit from that direction (not necessarily the first cell).
For example, if 4 were in r2c2 and the first digit in that direction (there were no digits in r2c1 or r1c2) then the 3 in r2 would be in r2c4 and the 5 in c2 would be in r4c2.

These 3x3 deconstruction puzzles never cease to amaze me ! Your "motel" was worth the road trip I took to solve it. The logic of the first steps was surprising and there was a very nice balance between the region building and the sudoku solving until the end.

Nice! These deconstruction puzzles are a nice way to kind of have "chaos" but not quite as difficult. I'll definitely need to check out some of the others you recommended.

Fantastic puzzle! I almost gave up after 4 hours, but then I found my logical mistake. After that the solution path flowed very nicely.

Incredible puzzle with gorgeous solve from start to finish! That lovely break-in and then that sneaky disambiguation at the end made me chuckle a lot :o

That was amazing, it broke my brain in a couple of ways, but looking back at it now, all logic was neat and very intricate! Thanks for this journey!

Brilliant puzzle! When you first mentioned the idea I was baffled by the idea that such a puzzle might even be possible, but it worked out really well with a very enjoyable solve path. There's also something very satisfying about the general idea of a no-clues-inside-the-grid deconstruction puzzle.
