Multiplied Cages

(Eingestellt am 2. Dezember 2021, 03:40 Uhr von RockyRoer)

The Rules

  1. Normal sudoku rules apply.
  2. Divide the entire grid into killer cages containing exactly three cells. The locations and totals of each must be deduced. Digits can not repeat within a killer cage.
  3. Clues in rectangles must separate cages, and represent the product of the two cage totals they separate. In some cases, you're only given if the product is odd or even.
Example:

Lösungscode: The digits that are in cages with a total of 14, from left to right, top to bottom (regular reading order) (?? digits) The solution code for the example would be: 356

Really enjoyed solving it. Thank you!
It’s around 3.5 stars in difficulty for me (probably because I didn’t find the optimal deduction involving Box 7).
Anyways, very nice puzzle!

I'd say 2.5/3 stars in difficulty. It wasn't particularly hard, I just progressed slowly. Nice one!

Nice and easy for me, pretty standard region drawing. The solution code had me for a second, should I put in the code one cage after another or put the whole 14 sum region. I just try them both.
Also does this mean I can set the median kropki and skyscraper? I was kind of hoping you may do it.

Reply: you can set whatever you want. I may return to medians eventually, but they don’t seem to be very popular so I’ve been trying other ideas lately. My last few medians puzzles still haven’t achieved enough solves to get a rating.

This was so hard I had to take a nap after a while - but the puzzle haunted me in my sleep, made me get up and finish it. :) Unfortunately, the nap has made me lost track of my solving time. I'd say it's >4.0 stars difficulty.

Reply: thanks for persevering! I bet if you take a second look at it you’ll find it’s much smoother. The 6x6 puzzle is a nice challenging puzzle too by the way.

@cdwg2000 15 cages consisting of 3 cells.

Reply: actually, 81cells divided by 3 cells per cage means 27cages. (12 cages in the 6x6 example).

Haha, I don't know what I was thinking, I had just woken up
