This is a puzzle that Casey asked me to look at with him, and this was the result of us working together. Enjoy.

The Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Digits in red cells in columns 1, 5 and 9 indicate the position of the 1, 5 and 9 respectively in their corresponding row. All possible red cells have been given - i.e. a negative constraint applies. So, a cell in column 1, 5 or 9 that is NOT red MUST NOT be the correct index for the 1, 5 or 9 in the corresponding row.
  • Adjacent digits on a green German whispers line must differ by at least 5.
  • The digits on thermometers must increase from the bulb end.

The logic between the thermos and 159s is quite fun, especially with the negative constraint! The interactions with the german whispers lines made it all the better!
